I’m Huiyu Zhou, a post-production editor and DIT based in Los Angeles, California. I hold a B.A. in Film Studies and Design from the University of California, Davis, and an M.F.A. in Film Production (Editing emphasis) from Chapman University. My passion lies in shaping stories through the rhythm, tone, and emotional depth of editing—whether for commercial work or independent films.

In recent years, I have edited multiple vertical mini-dramas such as Billionaire Playboy’s Replacement Bride, My Husband’s Hidden Desires, and The Mafia Boss’s Runaway Bride, and served as DIT on titles including A Deal with Lucifer and Love at First Sight. I have also edited and directed several short films, including Whisper of Home, Two Full Hands, I Lost My Passport, and A Self-Statement, which have been selected for and awarded at festivals such as NewFilmmakers NY and Film Fest at UC Davis.

My technical expertise spans DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, and extends to After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator for visual design and compositing, allowing me to oversee the creative process from production to final delivery with precision and artistry.

For me, film is not only about recording images—it’s about creating an emotional bridge between the story and the audience. I strive to bring stories to life through editing, crafting moments that linger in memory and resonate long after the screen goes dark.
